Introduction to Visual Classification of Soils (Mini-Dirt School)

TBE February 2008

A 2-day abbreviated Earth School for smaller groups. Fewer soils are covered and lectures are primarily on soil classification characteristics, with some logging and sample preparation discussion. The afternoons are spent in hands-on training.

Class size is usually limited to a maximum of 12 people although others can observe but not participate in classification. If a number of participants can be gathered conveniently at a particular site, economics may justify holding the class at that site.
