How do I Make an STR Request?

Download the STR Order Form provided at the bottom of this page. Send the completed form to gsa_rental@gsa.gov. Failure to include a completed STR order form may result in processing delays or the return of your request. The STR program office will send you quotes to the email address you provide.

What’s New with STR?

The STR rental period is now 120 days. The maximum days for a rental has increased from 60 days to 120 days.
You can now rent buses without drivers
School buses
Coach buses
Shuttle buses including wheel chair accessible

Coming Soon to STR

Hourly rentals- rent vehicles for just a few hours at a time. Make your reservation online for a nearby vehicle and in minutes you can be on your way. These rentals will only be available in select cities
Online requests- sign into the WebSTR system to track requests, accept quotes, and view rental histories
Equipment rentals- the same great service now available for vehicle rentals will be available for equipment such as forklifts, generators, and dozers.

What is the Short Term Rental Program?

GSA Fleet offers the Short Term Rental Program (STR) to customers needing additional or replacement vehicles for their fleet. The STR program can provide the right vehicles for seasonal work, special events, surge requirements, and replacement of vehicles out of service for maintenance or repair. With the STR program you can accomplish your mission. This program may not be used for personal travel (TDY) purposes. Advantages of using the STR program include:

STR rentals are tax exempt and the Government Administrative Rate Supplement (GARS) does not apply in most states.
All rental and fuel charges are applied to your regular GSA Fleet bill – the charges for a rental vehicle that is replacing a GSA vehicle are applied to the GSA license plate, otherwise the charges appear as a separate line item.
