Mission Statement
The Joint Staff Branch assists the DC PP&O in promoting Marine Corps policies and interests within the Joint Staff, Department of Defense and the other Services. Assists the Commandant, Operations Deputy and Deputy Operations Deputy in preparing for Joint Chiefs of Staff meetings and other duties involving joint matters.
Functions

Serves as the initial and final point of contact for the completion of Joint Staff actions assigned to the Marine Corps.

Provides early identification of joint matters affecting Marine Corps interest to appropriate Headquarters departments and commands.

Maintains liaison with other planners on Joint Staff issues.

Coordinates processing of Joint Staff actions with HQMC agencies and provides the formal Marine Corps position on Joint Staff issues.

Maintains liaison with the Special Assistant to CJCS for Joint Matters (SAJM) and coordinates Marine Corps participation in meeting of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Operations Deputies and Deputy Operations Deputies Tank sessions.

Coordinates with Plans Administration Section in the preparation of briefing books of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Operations Deputies and Deputy Operations Deputies Tank sessions.

Supervises and coordinates the Marine Corps liaison officers assigned to the Joint Staff Crisis Action Team.
