Wildland Fire Education Events in Eastern Idaho
The BLM in eastern Idaho has a very active Fire Education program. BLM Fire Education Specialists work hard to educate the public about wildland fire and its place in Idaho’s ecosystem.
Idaho Falls BLM Fire Prevention Specialists are always busy educating the public about wildfire. These specialists travel all over east Idaho to bring fun activities to classrooms, Scouts, fairs, homeowner meetings, community events and much more.
Contact your local BLM office for information on how you can participate in wildland fire education!

School Teachers, Education Specialists and Fire Ecology:
This past summer, Idaho Falls District BLM joined southeast Idaho school teachers in their annual Rocky Mountain Adventure Teachers’ Camp. The instructors spent an afternoon learning about wildfire ecology and the benefits of teaching the material to students of all ages. For this event, 15 public educators gathered in the Museum of Idaho to get a glimpse into FireWorks as one session in this weeklong continuing-education opportunity. The FireWorks curriculum is designed to make it as easy as possible for teachers to accurately and effectively educate students of all ages about fire ecology. Participation in games, worksheets and experiments illustrated wildfire effects on various ecosystems and the environment.
