The goal of our outreach program is to expand partnerships and support health information outreach projects by our network members. NN/LM NER offers support for health information outreach by providing presenters, exhibitors, opportunities for professional development and collaboration.

NN/LM NER staff can present and exhibit National Library of Medicine resources for your events. Contact us for further information. NER also provides individual consultation to help you plan and prepare for your own events. You can print National Library of Medicine educational handouts from our site and also order brochures.

Communities of Interest

Our Communities of Interest offer collaborative opportunities for librarians and other health information providers. Our Communities of Interest include: HealthIT, Healthcare Workforce, Healthy Communities and Health Literacy. NN/LM Outreach Evaluation Resource Center

The National Network of Libraries of Medicine Outreach Evaluation Resource Center builds capacity for health information outreach evaluation in the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM). When evaluation is an integral part of an outreach project, participants can identify approaches that work well, learn from experiences, make mid-course corrections, and recognize accomplishments. Through evaluation, members of the NN/LM and staff of the Regional Medical Libraries can demonstrate to partners and stakeholders that efforts have made a difference. The OERC's Planning and Evaluating Health Information Outreach Project Guides are helpful tools to integrate assessment and evaluation into your projects right from the start. You can use the OERC's data collection forms to track outputs from your classes. The OERC offers assessment and evaluation consulations to NN/LM Network Members.

Collaboration and Funding Opportunities

We work collaboratively with various regional partners to enhance public access to health information and to improve the regional health information infrastructure. We provide resources to facilitate collaboration in the region, including funding for health information outreach projects through subcontracts and cooperative agreements.
