Brigadier General John L. Gronski is the Assistant Adjutant General-Army, Pennsylvania National Guard, and also serves as Joint Staff/Commander, Pennsylvania National Guard. As Assistant Adjutant General, General Gronski is responsible for overseeing strength management, training, and equipment readiness with an overarching goal of increasing readiness to respond to federal and state missions.
 
General Gronski was commissioned in 1978 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Scranton. He served on active duty for four years before becoming a member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. General Gronski is a graduate of numerous military schools to include Ranger School, Airborne School, Pre-Command Course, Nuclear Biology Chemical Officer Course, Joint Firepower Control Course, Army National Guard Mountain Warfare Course, Air Transportability Planning Course and the M-1 19K Transition Training Program.
 
General Gronski commanded infantry units at the company, battalion and brigade level. He was assigned as a Military Liaison Team Chief in the Republic of Lithuania while commanding the 55th Brigade. General Gronski was deployed to Europe as Commander of Task Force Keystone, a brigade-sized element comprised of approximately 2,000 Soldiers, to conduct force protection operations in response to the terrorist attacks of September 11th. Prior to his present assignment as Assistant Adjutant General-Army, General Gronski served as the Commander, 2nd Brigade Forward, 28th Infantry Division, Ramadi, Iraq.
