Congressman Faleomavaega has sent an opinion survey
to every mailing address in American Samoa asking residents for their opinions
on a variety of issues.
“In an effort to give the public a greater voice in the affairs
of government, I have sent a survey to every resident with a mailing address
in American Samoa,” said Faleomavaega. “This is the first time such
a survey has been conducted in the Territory, and I am looking forward
to receiving your input on what I believe are very important issues affecting
the future of American Samoa.”
“I want to hear your thoughts on topics such as economic development,
federal court jurisdiction in the territory, whether U.S immigration laws
should be made applicable to our territory, and whether we should change
the law so our military service members will have a better opportunity
to participate in our local elections.”
“I will also be conducting a series of radio “call-in” shows over
the next few months so I sincerely hope that you will be thinking about
what we can do to improve our economy and preserve our way of life,” Congressman
Faleomavaega said.
Congressman Faleomavaega also noted that additional copies of the
survey are available at his Utulei and Washington DC offices. The
surveys are in Samoan and English.
“Anyone wishing to complete a survey and who did not receive one
can call either of my offices and one will be mailed to you,” Congressman
Faleomavaega said. “Completed survey forms should be mailed in or
delivered to my Utulei office.”
“I want to thank you for taking part in this historic survey,” Congressman
Faleomavaega said. “I am looking forward to hearing from you and
will continue to work tirelessly in your behalf.” |
