Congressman Faleomavaega announced that House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD) has conveyed his condolences to the people of American Samoa in a statement released today regarding Tuesday’s earthquake and tsunami.
“I appreciate that we are in the House Majority Leader’s thoughts and prayers,” Faleomavaega said. “With support from the U.S. Congress and the Obama Administration and with the help of God, I have every confidence that American Samoa will make it through this tragedy and come out stronger than before.”

Hoyer Offers Condolences on Disaster in American Samoa
WASHINGTON, DC – House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement, following Tuesday’s earthquake and tsunami that hit American Samoa and Samoa:
“I want to offer my deepest sympathy to all those in American Samoa and Samoa who lost loved ones in this terrible tragedy. We are all saddened by the loss of life and the scope of damage done. Our thoughts are with Eni Faleomavaega, American Samoa’s delegate to the House of Representatives, and we will keep him and everyone affected in our prayers.
