Mr. Frank E. Roehl is the Superintendent of Schools for the DoDDS Europe Isles District.
Mr. Roehl is a "military brat," attending 13 different schools in grades K-12 and experiencing two unaccompanied tours while his father served in Korea and Vietnam. He served as a US Army commissioned field artillery officer on active duty and in the reserves in Germany prior to and during his teaching career. He earned his undergraduate degree in education at the University of Nebraska and his master's degree in educational administration from Boston University.
Mr. Roehl's wife, Margy, is an Information Specialist at Patrick Henry Elementary School in Heidelberg. They raised two children who attended DoDDS schools K-12. Brian is a Major in the US Army stationed with the JMRC in Hohenfels, Germany. Aileen is pursuing a career in dance with the Amy Marshall Dance Company in New York City.
Mr. Roehl says his focus is on providing the leadership to advance student achievement, involve parents in the educational process of their children, and facilitate a motivated teaching and support staff in supporting the DoDEA mission serving the US Military and DoD Civilians in these times of the US Forces Transition in Europe and the war on terrorism.
