TerraNova Testing March 14-25, 2005

TORII STATION, OKINAWA , JAPAN — March 18, 2005 — The results of the OMB Circular A-76 Streamlined Competition on the logistics functions at the DoDDS-Pacific/DDESS-Guam Area Office, were announced today at a meeting with DoDDS-Pacific/DDESS-Guam personnel here. The result is that the government’s Most Efficient Organization (MEO) bid is lower than the Estimated Contractor Bid. This decision means government employees currently accomplishing engineering and supply work requirements will continue to perform their duties contained in the Performance Work Statement.

The government’s bid was compared to an Estimated Contractor Bid that was developed through market research. The Streamlined Competition cost comparison was completed and has been signed by the DoDDS-Pacific/DDESS-Guam Director, Dr. Nancy Bresell.

“The results we received clearly demonstrate the incredible talent and ability of our staff. Our team spent a considerable amount of time working with auditors and that effort has paid huge dividends. At DoDDS-Pacific/DDESS-Guam our top priority is student achievement. Maintaining a strong and knowledgeable work force is a key component in achieving our goals and objectives,” said Dr. Nancy Bresell, Director, DoDDS-Pacific/DDESS-Guam.

DoDDS-Pacific/DDESS-Guam will begin the implementation of the MEO within the next 30 days. This implementation may result in fewer government positions than in the original organization. Further information on the number of positions contained in the MEO and whether or not any personnel actions will be necessary, will be available within 10 business days.
