About CCCC

Mission Statement

The Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) supports and promotes the teaching and study of college composition and communication by 1) sponsoring meetings and publishing scholarly materials for the exchange of knowledge about composition, composition pedagogy, and rhetoric; 2) supporting a wide range of research on composition, communication, and rhetoric; 3) working to enhance the conditions for learning and teaching college composition and to promote professional development; and 4) acting as an advocate for language and literacy education nationally and internationally.

Constitution & Bylaws

The CCCC Constitution and Bylaws are the governing documents of the organization.  They were last updated in March of 2010.

Elections

Committees

CCCC accomplishes much of its work through the use of committees. It is because of committees that we have position statements, award programs, even a conference itself. We are always looking for potential committee members with expertise, energy, and colleagiality.  Click here for a complete listing of the currently active committees, links to committee websites, committee governance information, and information on how you can get involved.

Special Interest Groups

CCCC has a number of special interest groups (SIGs) which hold meetings and carry on other activities within the framework of the organization. SIGs permit members who share common interests to meet during the CCCC Annual Convention and to organize themselves in ways that best enable them to function.  CCCC is pleased to support SIGs because they offer members opportunities for social interaction and professional growth, providing time, space, and appropraite publicity to foster their activities.  Click here for additional information on CCCC SIGs.
