On behalf of the people of the United States, I wish all Muslims around the world a blessed Ramadan.

During this sacred time of the year Muslims around the world take time to reflect and share with their communities. I see the contributions Muslims make to their communities both here in America and through my travels around the world. During Ramadan Muslims and non-Muslims come together to mark the month of Ramadan through service to others, donations to charities, or opening their homes to people of different religions and backgrounds.

Along with U.S. Embassies everywhere and many of the other U.S. Departments, I will mark the holy month of Ramadan by hosting an Eid Reception in Washington. This will be a time for Muslims and non-Muslims to join one another to share experiences and celebrate common values.

I wish Muslims in all parts of the world Ramadan Kareem.
