Department of State Panel on "Public Diplomacy in the 21st Century"

Four senior Department of State officials will take part in a panel discussion of “Public Diplomacy in the 21st Century” at the 2010 U.S. Summit & Initiative for Global Citizen Diplomacy in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, November 18, from 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 pm. The panel discussion will be held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Independence H/I room, 1000 H Street, NW, Washington, D.C.

The panel, hosted by former U.S. Senator Harris Wofford, will feature:

  • Ann Stock, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs
  • Dawn McCall, Coordinator of the Bureau of International Information Programs
  • Dana Shell Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Media, Bureau of Public Affairs
  • Larry Schwartz, Director for Planning, Policy, and Resources, Office of the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs.

The Summit, organized by the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy (USCCD) and co-sponsored by the Department of State, supports the work of more than 1,100 non-governmental organizations conducting citizen diplomacy activities.
