On Monday, September 17, the U.S. Department of State’s Connecticut Passport Agency will open to the public in its new location at 850 Canal Street, Stamford, Connecticut. The agency’s last day in its current location in Norwalk, Connecticut will be Friday, September 14.
Conveniently located in Stamford near public transportation, parking, and Interstate 95, the new agency will have 12 public counters. The public lobby will be twice the size of our previous location and can accommodate up to 100 customers.
The Connecticut Passport Agency has served travelers in the region since 1978, issuing passports to U.S. citizens with emergency travel needs or who plan to travel within 14 days. In 2011, the Agency’s more than 40 employees issued approximately 125,000 passports, and served more than 23,000 customers at its public counters.
The agency is open Monday through Friday, except federal holidays. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 1-877-487-2778 or TDD/TTY: 1-888-874-7793. Information regarding hours of operation, fees, and application instructions is available on our website.
