SPLASH! Environmental Water Fair

Water is one of the most important substances needed to sustain life on the planet. Water industry professionals make it possible for people to have safe water to consume and use for recreational purposes. Roxbury Community College, in collaboration with several environmental agencies, aims to create a pipeline of future water professionals and bring environmental awareness to Boston's youth on the importance of safe water and a safe environment.

EPA Awards $200,000 for Environmental Job Training Grant in Hartford, Conn.

A $200,000 EPA grant will assist North Star Center for Human Development, Inc. in Connecticut to train 60 students, and place at least 54 graduates in environmental jobs. The grant is available through EPA’s Brownfields "Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training" program.

EPA Awards $317,000 for Brownfields Job Training and Urban Water Protection Grants in Rhode Island

EPA is providing a total of $317,000 to three Rhode Island organizations. One grant will provide job training for environmental work, and two grants will help address urban water quality issues, all of which will contribute to cleaner, healthier communities.

Connecticut Children's Medical Center Acknowledged for Exceptional Asthma Program

The Connecticut Children's Medical Center is one of four winners nationwide of the 2012 National Environmental Leadership Award in Asthma Management for its Easy Breathing Program, which includes patient education and environmental interventions.
