About
the Office of Legislative & Public Affairs
MISSION
The Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA) communicates information about the activities, programs, research results and policies of the National Science Foundation. OLPA employs a wide variety of tools and techniques to engage the general public and selected audiences including Congress, the news media, state and local governments, other Federal agencies, and the research and education communities.
OLPA has two divisions: the Division of Legislative Affairs and the Division of Public Affairs. The Division of Legislative Affairs includes the Congressional Affairs Group, the Issues Development Group and the External Affairs Group. For OLPA's Division of Legislative Affairs staff, see http://www.nsf.gov/staff/staff_list.jsp?orgId=5210&subDiv=y&org=OLPA. The Division of Public Affairs includes the Media and Public Information Group, the Multimedia Group and the Communications Services and Resources Group. For OLPA's Division of Public Affairs staff, see http://www.nsf.gov/staff/staff_list.jsp?orgId=5211&subDiv=y&org=OLPA. Together these divisions provide information about NSF's science and engineering research and education programs and activities.
