Anne Slaughter Andrew is the first woman to serve as U.S. Ambassador to Costa Rica. To implement President Obama’s vision for the Americas, the Ambassador’s main goals in Costa Rica include: expanding shared prosperity; enhancing citizen security; and advancing environmental security particularly by promoting clean energy, conservation, and sustainable development. During Ambassador Andrew’s tenure in Costa Rica, she has had the opportunity to leverage her expertise acquired in a career that has spanned the fields of law, business, and public policy. Throughout her career, Ambassador Andrew has been actively engaged in conservation and clean energy, working with such organizations as The Clean Economy Network, The Sierra Club, The Nature Conservancy, and the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation.

Ambassador Andrew received her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Indiana Law Review.
