Shifting Paradigms & Disruptive Technology
ADM001880
Fall 2006

Since the middle of the 20th Century, the pace of political, social and technological change has accelerated exponentially. The concept of paradigm shift which only recently dominated progressive thinking is being replaced with the concept of disruptive innovation, where even pioneering industries and institutions are confronted with changes so radical as to represent a potential challenge to their survival. This issue of the DTIC Review provides material related to technologies and innovations with the potential to transform or disrupt existing military, political and industrial institutions. Both the innovations themselves and the proposed strategies for dealing with them are presented.

The DTIC® Review is compiled from recent technical reports in DTIC's database, and the selected documents and bibliography are representative of information available in DTIC's extensive collection. Additional references, including electronic resources, can be found at the end of the volume.
