Web Measurement & Customization Technologies
HHS uses web measurement and customization technologies to remember a user’s online interactions with a website or online application in order to conduct measurement and analysis of usage or to customize the user’s experience. A common type of web measurement and customization technology is a “cookie.”
In keeping with privacy and Open Government principles for transparency, and in compliance with OMB Memorandum M-10-22: Guidance for Online Use of Web Measurement and Customization Technologies (PDF) released on June 25, 2010, HHS has established this space to communicate HHS proposed and approved uses of Web measurement and customization technologies.
Proposed Uses of Tier 3 Technologies
Proposed uses of a multi-session Web measurement and customization technology that collects personally identifiable information (PDF), or PII, a.k.a. Tier 3 Technology, are available for review and comment by the public. The period for public comment is 30 days from the date the proposed use is posted on this site.
