Information Systems Security Line of Business (ISSLOB)



Vision

To be the premier provider of information assurance services for systems supporting both Department of the Interior (DOI), National Business Center (NBC) and the federal community at large.

Information assurance is more than completing a checklist.

Mission

To serve as a trusted advisor to the federal community by provisioning sound security services that balance the business need with the security risk while ensuring compliance with federal regulations.

NBC ISSLOB

NBC’s Information Systems Security Line of Business Center of Excellence (ISSLOB COE) provides Information Assurance and Security services to the Federal government.  As an ISSLOB, NBC is able to provide security subject matter expertise to Federal government agencies in an efficient, cost-effective manner.  NBC provides Information Security services through a proven engagement methodology that ensures customer readiness and efficient delivery, minimizing impact to your technology support teams.

The NBC ISSLOB uses NIST/FIPS compliant methodologies and processes in the delivery of services.  Supported by an extensive library of regulatory content, our information assurance experts provide consistent, comprehensive engagement deliverables.

The NBC ISSLOB offers:

Rapid Engagement

No separate contract is required. 
No sole source justification is required.

The NBC ISSLOB COE is positioned to provide C&A services to DOI and federal government agencies.  As an OMB designated ISSLOB, work is initiated through an Inter-Agency Agreement (IAA) with the National Business Center Line of Business. 

The IAA will reference an agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding, with supporting Proposal, Statement of Work and Rules of Engagement documents.   Authority Under Which C&A is Provided:  Economy Act – 31 USC 1535 and Working Capital Fund, 43 USC 1467, 1468.
