Our Place, DC, supports women impacted by the criminal justice system by providing them with resources to maintain relationships with the community, help with resettlement after incarceration, and reconnect with their families. Our Place provides an array of services to support women to remain drug and alcohol free, obtain decent and affordable housing, acquire employment, gain access to education, secure resources for their children, and maintain their physical and emotional health. The Drop-In Center and Clothing Boutique serves as a safe and welcoming place to relax and connect with others who are re-integrating into the community. The Drop-In Center is the point of access to the array of services Our Place provides, including clothing, tokens for transportation, and reestablishing identity documents. Employment Services links women with employment opportunities in the DC area; provides individual assessments, employment classes, support groups, and placement in pre-apprentice and apprenticeship programs and living wage jobs. Legal Services provides legal advocacy on behalf of women in the criminal justice system; educates women about their legal rights and responsibilities; and provides individual representation. Prison & Jail Outreach provides information about the services of Our Place DC to women who are incarcerated. Our Place also runs a domestic violence support group.
