About the National Institute of Corrections

We are an agency within the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons. The Institute is headed by a Director appointed by the U.S. Attorney General. A 16-member Advisory Board, also appointed by the Attorney General, was established by the enabling legislation (Public Law 93-415) to provide policy direction to the Institute.

RS Eden offers the following services: substance abuse treatment, family counseling, correctional half-way houses, electronic home monitoring, drug testing, community supervision, employment advocacy, and sober/supportive housing.
Started in 1971

Who is helped?

RS Eden provides services to women with children, homeless families, women leaving prison. Capacity: 35 treatment slots, 26 half-way house beds, 350 housing units (52 for families).
