Picking Up the Pieces helps incarcerated women recognize the fragmentation and losses in their lives and understand some strategies and methods that can enable them to live their lives more fully and wholly. The ten major areas of loss covered in the treatment program are loss of material goods; loss of a job or role; losses of the physical self; loss of control; loss of personal freedom; loss of relationships; loss of childhood; loss of spirituality; loss through death and dying; and loss of dreams and goals.
