The Tamar Village program provides comprehensive day treatment services at a project apartment complex for pregnant or parenting women and their children. The women have been assessed as having severe problems with drugs and/or would require more extensive services than outpatient programs provide. They receive extended daily programming to assist them in becoming clean and sober and establishing/re-establishing a stable life situation. Typically the women will have an open case with Child Protective Services and are seeking family reunification or maintenance services. Women live with their families in an individual family apartment unit within the complex. After completion of treatment services (9-18 months), families will be able to remain in their apartments for a transitional period of up to one year, allowing for adequate time to develop vocational, educational and/or supportive systems necessary for ongoing recovery and family maintenance.
Started in 2008

Who is helped?

Women who have been previously incarcerated in jail or prison, women who are pregnant or parenting. Capacity: 30 women not including children, at any given time; with children the program can hold up to 90 people.
