The Michigan Reentry Initiative “Walk With Me” Program (MRI-WWM) is designed to create a prototypical reentry system that addresses institutional readiness, community reentry and stabilization. The program targets Wayne County in efforts to protect public safety and reduce the rate of recidivism occurring among paroled people reentering this geographic location. Efforts are tailored to the individual (ages 18 to 35) and provide close coordination among institutional corrections, law enforcement, community corrections, and other community and faith-based service providers.
Started in 1999

Who is helped?

Women with violent offender criminal history. Capacity: As of July 2008, over 800 people have been served.
