Individuals participating in this mental health program may participate for varying periods of time, either for acute stabilization purposes or long-term treatment, as in the case of the chronically mentally ill. Individuals will be maintained in an environment that provides enough structure to ensure individual well-being and institutional security, but one that meets those needs in the least restrictive manner.
The continuum of care offered by the program will address the need for tailored interventions designed to meet the needs of the identified women. The program includes the utilization of token economy system with an emphasis on positive reinforcement. Curriculum is devised with gender specific needs in mind. Individualized treatment plans are devised to employ a positive reinforcement strategy to minimize self-harming behaviors, to support the establishment of appropriate self-management behaviors, and to encourage self-supportive and prosocial behaviors.
