180 Degrees' Girls Resiliency Mentoring Program provides group and individual mentoring for high-risk and at-risk girls ages 9-17. Referrals come from the courts, probation, the juvenile delinquency unit, Children's Mental Health, Children's Crisis Response and Child Protection. Girls meet once a week for 12 weeks for group mentoring. Individual mentors meet with their mentees a minimum of one time per week. The goal of the Girls Resiliency Mentoring Program is to empower the girls and provide them with positive, pro-social connections with adults and their communities. Among other supports, the program provides homework help, help with interviewing and job skills, domestic violence education, educational guidance and vocational guidance.The mentoring program also addresses other relevant issues the girls face in their daily lives.
