GSA's Federal Technology Service issues Millennia RFP

Washington, DC -- The Federal Computer Acquisition Center (FEDCAC), an office within the General Service Administration's Federal Technology Service (FTS), has issued its Millennia Request for Proposals (RFP) for information technology (IT) support services. Millennia will provide a wide variety of support services for very large IT requirements to Federal government agencies including systems integration and software engineering.

The objective of the Millennia solicitation is to obtain a broad range of high quality IT support services under multiple award contracts to enable FTS to support its clients in a timely and cost-effective manner into the next millennium. The Millennia acquisition (which includes a SIC Code of 7379) will be conducted as a negotiated procurement and will result in a series of multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contracts.

FEDCAC plans to award up to a maximum of 12 IDIQ contracts, each of which will include provisions for firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and cost reimbursable task orders. The base period of the Millennia contracts will be five years, with a single five-year option period thereafter. The Millennia vehicle will be available for use by all FTS operating components.

Specifically designed to accommodate very large requirements, Millennia will become an important part of the suite of acquisition mechanisms that FTS uses to provide IT support to all Federal agencies (including Department of Defense organizations). Millennia will focus on past performance, customer satisfaction, exceptional quality, and diverse industry teams to provide FTS clients the very best in IT support services.

Millennia is the latest addition to the large family of contracting vehicles FTS uses to provide Government-wide IT services. These vehicles include the nationwide ANSWER contract, the GSA schedules, FTS 2000 and its successor contracts, and a host of multiple award 8(a) and IDIQ contracts.
