FTS Responds to Agency Protest Decision RegardingGSA's Seat Management Contracts

WASHINGTON, DC - The General Service Administration's Federal Technology Service (FTS) has officially responded to the Agency Protest Decision issued August 20, 1998, by fully documenting its cost/technical tradeoff analysis.

Although the Agency Protest Official sustained the protest filed by Boeing Information Services, Inc., on July 15, 1998, the decision recommended "that the Agency either document a cost/technical tradeoff that supports the conclusion that Boeing's superiority is not worth a price premium or award a contract to Boeing based on its technical and management superiority." The documentation fully supports GSA's original decision.

Charles Self, Assistant Commissioner of the Office of Information Technology Integration within FTS, stated that he is optimistic that this action brings any protest issues to closure and looks forward to working with Boeing as a provider of seat management services under the GWAC portion of the NASA ODIN contract and on other future acquisitions.
