GSA SmartBUY Purchase Agreements Provide Increased Cyber Security for Federal, State, Local and Tribal Governments

GSA Cyber Security Contracts Provide Maximum Value for Taxpayer Dollars
 
WASHINGTON – The U.S. General Services Administration announced today blanket purchase agreement awards to provide better cyber security protection to federal, state, local and tribal governments.
 
This new suite of situational awareness incident response (SAIR) security solutions includes baseline configuration management, network mapping/path discovery and vulnerability management. The contracts were awarded under GSA's SmartBUY (software managed and acquired on the right terms) program, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. 
 
“GSA’s new suite of security solutions is aimed at protecting our IT infrastructure from cyber security incidents and other vulnerabilities, while providing maximum value for taxpayer dollars” said Jim Williams, GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner. “We are pleased to give all levels of government the opportunity to increase security while taking advantage of discount pricing and creating a common security solution across all government.”
 
The awards were made to Autonomic Resources, Intelligent Decisions Inc., Merlin International and Patriot Technologies for BigFix’s Platform 7 software; and to Winvale Group for Gideon’s Secure Fusion software.  A sixth award may follow.  Prices awarded using these agreements are discounted from the low prices previously awarded on GSA schedule contracts. The estimated contract value will exceed $20 million.
