DOCLINE and Loansome Doc
DOCLINE
DOCLINE is the National Library of Medicine's (NLM) automated interlibrary loan (ILL) request routing and order referral system. It is used by health sciences libraries throughout the MidContinental Region, the nation, and the world to provide efficient document delivery service among libraries in the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM).
The DOCLINE system was developed to improve document delivery service by linking the journal holdings of member libraries and by routing the requests quickly throughout the National Network of Libraries of Medicine (NN/LM).
Full Network members within the MidContinental Region are required to have a minimum of 25 current journals that are accurately reflected in their Serial Holdings records and can be loaned to other Network members using the DOCLINE Interlibrary Loan System. Reciprocal borrowing though the DOCLINE system is a key responsibility for Full Network members. Full Network members are required to maintain a 75% or greater fill rate for loans requested of them.
