Zhiwu Wang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Biological and Nanoscale Systems Group, Bioscience Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Zhiwu received his B.S. in 2000 in environmental engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China and Ph.D. in 2007 in environmental engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Washington State University in 2007-2009 before joining ORNL. Zhiwu’s research focuses on the development of biofilm-based technology for biomass-to-biofuel conversion and solids/liquid wastes treatment. Zhiwu currently works on the exploitation of hyperthermophilic microbes for one-step conversion of recalcitrant plant-cell-wall into purified biofuel supported by the BioEnergy Science Center (BESC).
