Sukanya Iyer is a PhD candidate in Genome Science and Technology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She received her B-Tech in Biotechnology from SRM University , Chennai India.

Her research interests focus on the development and characterization of artificial gene regulation mechanisms. The objective of her research is to assemble different gene regulatory mechanisms to construct cell-free gene circuits.
