Cindy Kendrick

Manager, Sponsored Research

Alan LibyCindy Kendrick joined the Partnerships staff in May 2007 as a Sponsored Research Manager. Her focus has been negotiation and execution of non-proprietary and pre-competitive agreements with research partners who are selected to perform research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's (ORNL) User Facilities, as well as improvement of systems to optimize the User experience.

Cindy has over 20 years of experience directing and/or implementing ORNL programs in environmental remediation science and technology, waste management, and environmental compliance. From 1997 to 2004, Cindy directed ORNL's Environmental Technology Programs, a $20-30 million science and technology portfolio, spanning work ranging from cutting-edge robotics for removal of high-level radioactive waste from deteriorating underground tanks to in situ bioremediation of soil and groundwater. From 1994 to 1997, she directed, for the DOE customer, the Oak Ridge Site Technology Coordination Group, with a mission of defining and finding or developing solutions for environmental remediation technology needs for the five major Oak Ridge sites, while integrating regulator and stakeholder requirements and perspectives. Cindy received a national program award for excellence for promoting DOE Complex-wide cooperation among Site Technology Coordination Groups. Immediately prior to joining the Partnerships Directorate, Cindy filled the role of ORNL Staff Concerns Coordinator, working with subject matter experts and all levels of management to facilitate the early identification, prevention, and resolution of problems and to provide a supplementary communication channel.

Cindy holds B.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and in Child and Family Studies from David Lipscomb University.
