This certificate will help you stay relevant in the Human Resources field or expand your skills or degree. The certificate is offered on ground, online, and hybrid. The HR Management certificate can prepare you for the Society for Human Resource Management certification.

Admission Criteria
You must have a bachelor's or master's degree

Course Specifics
Four required courses, with a possible fifth foundation course are required to complete the Human Resource Management Certificate necessary, depending on prior education.. The courses include:

  • MGT 555 Global Human Resources Management
  • MGT 556 Organizational Design
  • MGT 557 Labor Relations
  • MGT 558 Managing Employee Development and Training 
    • MBA 501 Management, Organizational Learning and Change (necessity based on prior education)

Gainful Employment Disclosure Statement

Occupations in which graduates typically find employment after completing the Human Resource Management Certificate include Information Human Resource Specialists.  Further information on occupations may be found at http://online.onetcenter.org/crosswalk/ and entering the SOC code of 13-1071.   The normal time frame for completing the certificate is 5 semesters if a student takes all foundation and required courses.  The normal time frame for completing the certificate is 4 semesters if a student takes only required courses.  Of the 14 students enrolled in the certificate program during the 2010-11 academic year, 5 students completed the certificate in the normal time frame.  We estimate that tuition and fees would total $9,280 and books and supplies would total $915 if a student took all foundation and required courses.  We estimate that tuition and fees would total $7,424 and books and supplies would total $732 if a student took only required classes.  The median loan amount for students who completed this certificate program was $20,425.
