Vehicle Passes & Vehicle Registration
The Base Security Office issues vehicle passes and decals for all authorized
personnel requiring routine access to and parking on Coast Guard Island
(CGI).

All personnel requesting a decal must provide the following items to Security:
Current vehicle registration
Valid State drivers license
Current Military/Dependant ID card
Proof of current insurance showing policy dates and applicable
vehicle
Expiration Tab: For vehicles already having a decal (but
the decal date has expired) you will need to provide all the information
listed above plus the decal number from your vehicle.
Visitor Passes
All vehicles entering the Base that don't have a valid Coast Guard or DOD decal
must obtain a visitor's pass.
Note: If you don't have a valid Military/Dependant or Civilian ID card you
must be sponsored. Sponsors can make prior arrangements by notify the Security
Office on the day of the visit and providing the visitor's name, time of arrival
and destination. See below for sponsor's responsibilities.
One Day Pass
Issued at the Base Main Gate
Items required by visitor to obtain:
Military/Dependant or Civilian ID card, or
Valid State drivers license, or
Civilian ID card;
Current vehicle registration, and
Proof of current vehicle insurance.
Passes for Longer than One Day
Authorized in instances such as attending training at MSC and TAD
assignment to Alameda
Issued at the Security Office, Bldg. 3
Items required to obtain:
Military/Dependant or Civilian ID card, or
Valid State drivers license, or
Civilian ID card;
Current vehicle registration, and
Proof of current vehicle insurance.
Base Access Procedures (Sponsor & Visitor Responsibilities) The Coast Guard Island Sponsor fills out the
Base Access Request Form
, saves it and emails as an attachment to
D11-PF-BaseAccess@uscg.mil .
If the Sponsor sends the request with at least one working day's notice, it
will be reviewed and the visitor will be added to the access list.Be
advised that if the request is sent after 1500, the names will not be added
to the base access list until 0700 the next day or if on Friday, the
following Monday.
If it is less than 24 HRS and during the normal FPCON, a
phone verification is required at the time of visitor's arrival in lieu of a
physical escort from the gate. The VISITOR tells the main gate the CG
Sponsor's name, phone number, and their destination. The GUARD calls
that number, confirms/notifies, allows access.
MEANTIME
D11-PF-BaseAccess@uscg.mil should have an e-mail with visitor's full
name for accountability (Sponsor's responsibility). PLEASE insure that
the VISITOR has all the information and you are available to answer the call
so there is no backup at the Main Gate, especially during the heavy flow
hours of 0600 to 0800.
