Compliance, Governance, and Audit

The Compliance, Governance, and Audit certificate will build on previously obtained knowledge.  You will be prepared to build and support an incident response program for an organization through the completion of this certification.  The goal of the certificate will be to prepare you to assist organizations with their digital forensics and investigative needs while acquiring the knowledge that will prepare them to take the CISA certification exam.

Admissions Crieteria
Available to individuals holding a bachelor's or master's degree. 
 
Additional Admission Requirements:
Applicant must possess a bachelor's or master's degree in a computer related field.

OR

Applicants must provide documented competency in the area of computer security; a minimum of one of the following is required:
  • Security+ Certification
  • CIW Security Certification
  • Network+ Certification
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSA, MCSE)
  • Novell Certification (CNA, CNE, MCNE)
  • CISCO Certifications (CCNA, CCNE, CCIE)

OR

Two years of verifiable professional-level, full-time work experience in network design/development/administration or information assurance

OR

Successfully complete BIT 526 Enterprise Network Architectures with a grade of "C" (2.000) or better

And

Gainful Employment Disclosure Statement

Occupations in which graduates typically find employment after completing the Compliance, Governance, and Audit Certificate include Information Security Analysts.  Further information on occupations may be found at http://online.onetcenter.org/crosswalk/ and entering the SOC code of 15-1122.   The normal time frame for completing the certificate is 10 semesters if a student takes all foundation and required courses.  The normal time frame for completing the certificate is 5 semesters if a student takes only required courses.  Of the 3 students enrolled in the certificate program during the 2010-11 academic year, 1 student completed the certificate in the normal time frame.  For students who had to complete all required and foundation courses, we estimate that tuition and fees would total $17,960 and that books and supplies would total $1,830.  For students who had to complete only required courses, we estimate that tuition and fees would total $9,280 and books and supplies would total $915. The median loan amount for students who completed this certificate program was $20,000.
