The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga

We welcome you to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) InfoSec (Information Security) Center located within the Department of Computer Science, and in collaboration with the Departments of Management and Criminal Justice.  

The mission of the Center is to serve as a regional model for promoting excellence in information security education, assisting businesses, government agencies, education institutions and industry in their information security needs, and serving as the  first point of call  for any information security emergency.

The Center strives to:

Prepare undergraduate and graduate students to meet the challenges posted by the rapid developments in information technologies and the corresponding emergence of new treats and attacks on the critical information infrastructure upon which our society has come to depend;

 

Provide working professionals with the security skills and best practices needed to meet the workplace challenges resulting from current advances in computer technology;

 

Promote excellence in information security education by keeping abreast of developments in information technology and revising the curriculum accordingly;

 

Serve the University and the surrounding communities with leadership and distinction.

 

To this end, the Computer Science department offers courses, as well as, concentrations in Information Security at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. In addition two certificates in Information Security are offered at the undergraduate level.
