Community Partners

Our community partners have a significant role in morale activities of Base Alameda, such as Coast Guard Day, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony, Enlisted Person & Civilian of the Quarter Recognition, Earth Day, and annual holiday toy drive.  They are listed here in the following categories: military affiliations, government affiliations, and local businesses and organizations.

Military Affiliations:

  •  Golden Chapter Chief Warrant Officers Association 

    The CWOA is also a sponsor of at the EPOQ/COC Recognition Ceremony.  Their president presents a monetary award to the EPOC.  The Golden Gate Chapter is an active partner with most, if not all, events and ceremonies that Base Alameda supports, such as Coast Guard Day, the Fall Festival, and the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony. 

  • Lake Merritt Council, Navy League of the United StatesLake Merritt Council of the Navy League sponsors Base Alameda.  The Council encourages spousal participation in the Navy League, as well as providing support to Coast Guard families. Mr. Peete Baer represents the Council at the EPOQ/COC Recognition Ceremony presenting a monetary award to the EPOC.  They hold two annual events that are free of charge to the crews of Base Alameda: St. Patrick's Day Luncheon and "Sausage and Suds".  Email Peete at: peete.baer@dmvgateway.com
  • Northern California Coast Guard Retiree Council  

    The purpose of the Northern California Coast Guard Retiree Council is to provide information which may be of interest to the general community of retirees from the U.S. Coast Guard, Coast Guard Reserve and the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration.  The website provides retirees and their spouses access to links for survivor information and general benefit information.  The NCCGRC hosts an annual All Services Retiree Seminar.  See their website for details.

  • Pearl Harbor Survivors: Base enjoys a special relationship with PH Survivors whose members are among "this nation's finest generation".   Every December we hold a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Ceremony to honor the fallen and the Survivors whose numbers are sadly decreasing. Government Agencies:

  • Base Exchange 

    In addition to providing quality merchandise in the store, in their catalog and on-line, the CGX provides the Coast Guard with supplemental funding to the Morale, Well-being, and Recreation (MWR) fund. Ms. Susan Stevens is the store manager. The CGX often has a vendor booth at island-wide activities such as Coast Guard Day and flag level change of command ceremonies.

  • City of Alameda 

    Alameda is a Coast Guard City that is actively involved with events on CGI and often invites Coast Guardsmen and civilian employees to participate in city events. When the Mayor is not available, Mr. Hadi Monsef represents Alameda at the Base Enlisted Person of the Quarter (EPOC) and Civilian of the Quarter (COC) Recognition Ceremony

     

Local Business and Civic Organizations:

  • Sea West Coast Guard Federal Credit Union 

    Sea West Coast Guard Credit Union has been dedicated to serving the United States Coast Guard for over 50 years. They offer premiere financial products and services at a much lower cost than big banks. Let them serve your banking needs that include checking, savings, loans and more! Each week, Sea West submits an article to the island-wide Plan of the Week (POW) offering financial advice. Mr. Julio Blea, on behalf of Sea West, attends the Base EPOC/COC Recognition Ceremony. Sea West generously presents a cash award to both winners.

  • Executive Inn & Suites 

    Located across the water from CGI, Executive Inn & Suites is a sponsor of the EPOC/COC Recognition Ceremony.  A representative presents a one-night stay for two to the EPOC.  Coast Guard conferences are held at Executive Inn & Suites offering competitive rates.  For special events such as the annual "CGI Casino Night" Executive Inn & Suites blocks off a number of rooms with a special rate.

  • San Leandro Marina Inn 

    The Marina Inn, on San Francisco Bay, is a waterfront San Leandro hotel located minutes from the Oakland International Airport. Stay on the water with beautiful yachts in your back yard, expansive parks all around you and views of the San Francisco Bay. Ms. Janise Dawson, on behalf of The Marina Inn, attends the EPOC/COC Recognition Ceremony to award the COQ with one-night stay for two at their hidden waterfront oasis. She also presents a $50 gift certificate to the First Runners-Up for both EPOQ and COQ.

  • The Inn at Jack London Square 

    Located in historic and picturesque Jack London Square in Oakland, this lovely downtown hotel offers special rates for Coast Guard guests.  The Inn shares the COQ sponsorship at the EPOC/COC Recognition Ceremony.
