Clinical Research Collaboration Opportunities

NIDDK funds a number of clinical trials. Amongst these are multi-center clinical trials on diabetes, digestive diseases (including liver diseases), kidney and urologic diseases, obesity and weight control, endocrine and metabolic diseases, and hematological diseases through clinical research networks comprised of academic grantee organizations. The goals of the NIDDK-funded trials are to address key scientific questions regarding the prevention and treatment of diseases and to encourage the development of biomedical products and technologies intended to meet public health needs. For some of these trials collaboration opportunities arise for organizations interested in contributing relevant diagnostics, educational materials, equipment, nutritional supplements, therapeutics, vaccines and other biomedical technologies to NIDDK for evaluation in the studies.

Collaboration opportunities for specific trials are typically announced by NIDDK through Notices of Opportunity (NOOs), which are posted on the FedBizOpps website (www.fbo.gov) and will also appear below. The NOOs provide a summary of the study to be conducted including background information and study goal(s), the criteria that NIDDK will use to evaluate capability statements submitted by prospective collaborators, and NIDDK contact information. Organizations interested in collaborating with NIDDK are required to submit a capability statement which will be evaluated by NIDDK to select collaborators. The capability statement includes information regarding the organization’s biomedical product or technology, point of contact, and responses to specific criteria.

To view NIDDK clinical collaboration opportunities, please check back often for new studies.
