In response to the FY2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act (PDF) (613 pp, 1.5M) (H.R. 2764; Public Law 110-161), EPA issued the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule (74 FR 56260) which requires reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) data and other relevant information from large sources and suppliers in the United States.

Latest Developments
  • On August 31, the Administrator signed a proposal to amend the calculation and monitoring methodologies for subpart I, Electronics Manufacturing. Proposed changes include revising certain calculation methods and adding a new method, amending data reporting requirements, and clarifying terms and definitions. This action also proposes confidentiality determinations for the reporting of the new and revised data elements under the proposed amendments to subpart I. Many of these proposed actions are in response to a petition to reconsider specific aspects of subpart. This notice also proposes amendments to subpart A, General Provisions, to reflect proposed changes to the reporting requirements in subpart I. More information.

  • August 20, 2012: EPA opened the electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool (e-GGRT) to accept 2011 data for the new 2011 source categories (i.e. subparts I, L, T, W, DD, FF, II, QQ, RR, SS, TT, and UU) reporting under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program. Registered reporters can prepare and submit annual GHG reports at ghgreporting.epa.gov. The deadline to submit 2011 reports for new reporting year 2011 source categories is September 28, 2012. For this group of reporters, September 28, 2012 is also the deadline for reporting any remaining 2011 data under all subparts.
