A collaborative and multi-State initiative that aims to improve infant health outcomes and reduce infant mortality and prematurity across the Nation, particularly among disparate populations.
Translating medical genetics and scientific knowledge and technology into services at the community level.
Enacted in 1935 as a part of the Social Security Act, the Title V Maternal and Child Health Program is the Nation’s oldest Federal-State partnership. For over 75 years, the Federal Title V Maternal and Child Health program has provided a foundation for ensuring the health of the Nation’s mothers, women, children and youth, including children and youth with special health care needs, and their families. Title V converted to a Block Grant Program in 1981.
HRSA-13-176 Healthy Tomorrows Partnership for Children Program (HTPCP)
HRSA-13-201 Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) State Partnership Grant Program
Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Title V of the Social Security Act (SSA) are programs that serve many low-income women and children including children with special health care needs. Medicaid and CHIP are public insurance programs that provide medical assistance to enrollees that meet eligibility requirements. Title V is a block grant program, administered by the Health Resources Services Administration’s Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) and combines Federal, State, and local funds to provide comprehensive services to low income women and children with limited access to health care services.
