Act as the Program Manager for all Reserve VA Educational Benefits Programs including verifying eligibility for Montgomery GI Bill – Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR), Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP) and the Post 9/11 GI Bill. RPM-3 is the Coast Guard’s Service Representative for approving all Reserve Transfer of Eligibility (TEB) for educational benefits for the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
Manages the Coast Guard incapacitation system for ill and injured reservists and acts as the Coast Guard’s Benefits Issuing Authority (BIA) for reservists on medical hold and Active Duty for Health Care (ADHC) orders.
Manage Reserve Component Category changes for members entering and leaving the Selected Reserve (SELRES). Reserve Component Category changes to and from the SELRES are managed by RPM-1, Reserve Component Category Management Branch.
If you are an IRR member wanting to transfer to the Selected Reserve, you need to contact the Coast Guard Recruiting Command (CGRC) In-Service Transfer Team (ISTT) for assistance with transitioning back to the Selected Reserve (SELRES). The ISTT will work with you to validate your readiness (medical, dental, weight compliance, etc.) prior to allowing your return to the SELRES. The ISTT also coordinates assignments to the Selected Reserve with the PSC Reserve Assignments Branch (PSC-rpm-2).
