Teaming Teachers with INL

Teaming Teachers with INL is a professional development program for K-12 educators.

Through this eight-week summer program, teachers team with INL scientists and technical experts to conduct research relevant to the classes they teach.

The program is designed to build teachers' confidence and deepen their knowledge of science, mathematics, engineering and technology and hone their instruction skills. They also are given opportunities to apply concepts that are linked to courses taught in typical teacher education curricula.

Participants return to their classrooms with new skills and energize students to think about careers in science, mathematics, engineering, or technology.

Who can apply:

  • Experienced teachers who demonstrate an intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning,
  • Teachers who are U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens.
Participants receive an hourly wage commensurate with their academic credentials and experience for their participation in the 8-week program. Out-of-state participants receive a monthly housing allowance.
