October 2010 Report Cover

CAAAC subcommittees and work groups have issued many reports.

The Clean Air Act Advisory Committee (CAAAC) is a senior-level policy committee established in 1990 to advise the U.S. EPA on issues related to implementing the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990.

The CAAAC meets three times a year, normally in Washington, D.C. It provides advice and counsel to EPA on a variety of important air quality policy issues.

Charter

The committee is chartered under the Federal Advisory Committee Act and has been renewed every two years since its creation. Read Charter (PDF) (3pp, 93k, About PDF)

Membership

The CAAAC has about 40 members representing senior managers and experts from state, tribal, and local government, environmental and public interest groups, academics, industry and others. Full Membership List (PDF) (8pp, 80k, About PDF)

Membership on the CAAAC and its subcommittees is at the discretion of the EPA and active members are normally requested to stay on the Committee and subcommittee every two years when the Charter is renewed. New members are allowed to join at any time at the approval of EPA's Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation.
