The Rapid City Hospital provides health care to all the Indian people in Rapid City, South Dakota, and is unique in that it is not located on a Reservation. The 32 bed Hospital has a staff of nine physicians who provide inpatient and outpatient adult, pediatric, and prenatal care. Major surgery and obstetrics, including complicated cases referred from other service units, are performed at Rapid City Regional Hospital. Inpatient psychiatric care (ten beds), psychological testing, outpatient psychiatric counseling and evaluations are also provided at the Rapid City Regional Hospital. The Rapid City Regional Dental Lab provides services for all of the Aberdeen Area major surgery referrals. The Tribal Health Advisory Board has received a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health for an alcoholism project which provides counseling and follow-up programs to help recovering alcoholics find and retain jobs. Located in the Black Hills, you have opportunities of fun activities and discover Crazy Horse Memorial, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, and Badlands National Park, to name a few attractions in the nearby area.
