Federal Campus Program

The federal government seeks to promote and strengthen health and wellness programs for its employees by combining efforts among agencies. On May 12, 2009, President Obama requested that the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), National Economic Council (NEC), and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) explore the development of a campus program for the federal workforce.

The Federal Campus Program will create a cooperative environment where agencies of close proximity share access and support for wellness-related programs and services, such as:

  • fitness centers
  • healthier cafeterias
  • health clinics

The pilot Washington, DC campus brings together OPM, Department of the Interior (DOI), and GSA, and will provide a framework for several future campus projects. Regular updates on these campuses will be posted to this page, as well as information for contractors interested in related business opportunities.
