DoDEA Procurement: Doing Business with DoDEA

1,2,3 to Contract with DoD (and DoDEA)

What do we buy?

The DoDEA Procurement Division buys goods and services for all of DoDEA, including over 200 elementary, middle, and high schools, and DoDEA headquarters. Theses needs are often similar to those of most U.S. public school systems. DoDEA is a school system within the Department of Defense. Typical requirements include:

  • educational materials
  • school bus transportation
  • school band uniforms
  • playground equipment
  • information technology
  • sports equipment
  • and, anything else needed by a typical public school system

The major difference between DoDEA schools and American public schools are the nature of our student population (children of uniformed military personnel) and the location of our schools (mostly on or near military bases in the U.S. and aboard). These differences present unique challenges which affect DoDEA requirements.

Depending on the circumstances, procurement support is provided by either DoDEA procurement personnel or local/base procurement offices overseas. The agency limits the use of the Government Purchase Card (GPC) for purchases at (1) $3,000 when either the buyer or the receiving address is inside the U.S. or Guantanamo Bay, Cuba or (2) $25,000 when the buyer and the receiving address are outside the U.S.

DoDEA headquarters publicly displays smaller contracting opportunities ($10,000 - $25,000) for a minimum of ten days on a posting board located at:
