NACI in Action

You can help someone with asthma breathe easier.

At the NACI’s core are three major national efforts that aim to enhance implementation of the Expert Panel Report 3—Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma (EPR-3) by putting into action the six key messages of the Guidelines Implementation Panel (GIP) Report.

  • The NACI Demonstration Projects engage 13 projects nationwide to design and implement innovative real-world applications of GIP messages and strategies.
  • The NACI Strategic Partnership Program supports leading non-profit, scientific, professional, academic, and voluntary organizations in strategic partnerships with the NHLBI to conduct GIP-based interventions for a sustainable impact on asthma control.
  • The NACI Champions Program enlists dedicated stakeholders at the national, regional, state, and local levels to disseminate the GIP messages through their partners and networks.

By working together with dedicated individuals and organizations to control asthma and reduce asthma disparities, the NACI is expanding best practices across clinical practices, schools, childcare settings, worksites, and communities; building supportive health systems and financing structures; and measuring and assessing performance and impacts.

Your participation in the NACI is vital to this effort. We invite you to use the NACI tools and other resources available through this Web site to enhance implementation of GIP messages and strategies.
