In our state, all students have to take biology and chemistry or physics in order to get a high school diploma.Do you think this is fair? do you think anyone can do a good job in chemistry or physics?
Della Brown White, Ph.D.: I examine social and cultural factors that may influence participation in genetics research among minority populations. I think it is fair that students have to take these science classes. Learning the basic principles of biology, chemistry and physics is important in helping us to understand and appreciate the world in which we live. In biology you can learn about the human body and how we differ from other living organisms. Also by studying chemistry and physics you can strengthen your math skills and other analytical skills. Taking these classes can also serve as a good foundation for college courses in science. Some chemistry related jobs include chemical engineering, biotechnology, pharmacy, biochemistry and even art conservation!
